When you're ready to make the leap into a home improvement project, you might not have all the required tools in a garage or shed. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot Union City Tool Rental Center.
Tool Rental
Our tool rental choices expand your toolbelt with the precise tools you require to complete your project. It's impractical to buy a specialty tool when you're not using it at least once a week. When you're searching for a new tool, try it out first before you select which to get. Whatever your situation, we have the power tools you're looking for.
Rent Shop Vacs, Post Hole Diggers, and Floor Sanders
Tackle major jobs with reliable power tool rentals. Take your scuffed hardwood floor to the next level with a floor sander rental and a shop vacuum to get the floors smooth and ready for refinishing. Construct a new fence around your home faster with a post hole digger rental, then use other concrete tools that suit your job.
Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Paint Sprayers
Beautiful spring days are a great time to tackle outdoor painting projects. Make surfaces look new again with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you need a paint sprayer rental for professional coverage, rental ladders for painting fences, or scaffolding rentals for painting a house or shed, we have what you need.
Truck Rental

From flatbed and pickup trucks to box trucks and Penske moving trucks, we've got the transportation you need. We'll have the correct size for your project so you can keep your job on track. How do I rent tools and trucks?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You could also visit our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is carried at your store. For more info on renting tools, read the Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a tool by the hour?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY projects may only require a short rental period, and long-term jobs aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any grime and dust from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, call your local rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I choose how long to rent a truck?
Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the documentation before selecting a vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck with gas before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Note the fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
