The Home Depot Rental Center at Vacaville

Take on any new DIY project with the right tools for the job — even if you don't currently own them. Rent the tools, use them, and bring them back when you're done. You're free to complete your project without cluttering up your shed or garage with tools you only need once in a while.

Tool and Equipment Rental
Using The Home Depot Vacaville Tool Rental Center helps you handle more complex DIY projects. No more old hand-me-down tools that limit what you can do. Rent quality tools to complete your project confidently and safely. If your local store doesn't have the tool in stock, try checking another one within driving distance.

Tame the Lawn and Bushes Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw rental, and the sidewalks and driveway with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be refreshed and ready for new spring flowers in no time.

A Comfortable Workspace is a Productive One
Get ahead of summer heat by prepping in the springtime. We've got ways to help keep your workspace comfortable and cool so you can get more done. We carry generators to run rental air conditioners, fans, and all your large power tools.

Cargo Van and Truck Rentals
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep trucks of all kinds ready for rental. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from cargo vans to pickups to flatbed trucks. You're sure to find the correct size for your project so you can keep your job on track. As your trusted source for DIY projects, storage needs, and packing, it's simple to make us your go-to source for truck rental as well.

Box Truck and Penske Moving Truck Rentals
If it's time to move to a new home, we can help with that. Explore our rental box trucks. We also offer Penske moving trucks in sizes ranging from 12-feet to 26-feet, but as always, availability varies from one store to the next. Our Penske moving trucks have different rental requirements and sizes than our box trucks, so check our FAQ or speak to an Orange Apron to make sure you choose the right rental truck for you.

Large Equipment Rentals
Complete massive projects with the right pro equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the boom lifts and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the skid steers for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.

Although we're mentioning specific truck, tool, and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular piece of equipment in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent tools, trucks, or large equipment?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what tools and trucks are up for rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You may also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is available at your store. For more information on renting tools or large equipment, read our Tool Rental FAQs, which includes terms and conditions for the equipment.

Can I rent large equipment or tools by the hour?

You can rent a tool or large equipment for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY projects may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and long-term projects can also be accommodated. You've got options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I bring the tools back?

You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I choose how long to rent a truck?

Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract and terms and conditions before you choose a vehicle.

Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?

Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Can I rent large equipment or a truck with only a driver's license?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.

How do I receive my large equipment rental?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment dropped off at your job site for a reasonable cost — at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. Speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.

How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on my large equipment rentals?

Think of your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the manual so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra time you require.
