Tool and Equipment Rental
Start your DIY project with confidence and the correct tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Vero Beach Tool Rental Center expand your toolbelt with the tools you don't have at home. You can rent what you need and bring it back after you've completed the project. In fact, if you found the tools so useful that you didn't want to return them, ask about purchasing used tools. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.
Tame the Lawn and Bushes Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower rental, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw, and the driveway with a pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be ready for new spring flowers before you know it.
Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
To make your home more energy efficient, refresh your insulation in the spring, if possible — before it gets dangerously hot in the attic. Rent equipment made for insulation to get it installed correctly. Choose from a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated properly. Installing insulation keeps your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, all while tempering your heating and cooling bills.
Cargo Van and Truck Rentals
To move large tool rentals or anything else, we keep trucks of all kinds ready for rental. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from pickup trucks to flatbed trucks to cargo vans. You're sure to find the correct size for your DIY project so you can keep your job on track. As your source for storage, packing, and DIY projects, it's simple to make us your go-to source for truck rental as well.
Box Truck and Penske Moving Truck Rentals
If it's time to relocate to a new home, we can help with that as well. Explore our rental box trucks. We also offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths, but as always, availability varies from one store to the next. Use our trucks to haul all your belongings — from everything in a dorm or small apartment to a 5-bedroom house. Our Penske moving trucks have different sizes and rental requirements than our box trucks, so check out the FAQ or speak to an associate to make sure you choose the right rental truck for you.
Large Equipment Rentals
Complete expansive projects with the right professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job. From the boom lifts and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.
Although we're mentioning popular tool, large equipment, and truck rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular item in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent a piece of large equipment, a tool, or a truck?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You might also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is in stock at your store. For more on renting tools or large equipment, read our Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent large equipment or tools by the hour?
You can rent large equipment or tools for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY projects may only require a short rental period, and major projects are no problem. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract before choosing your vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck or large equipment?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
Do I need to pick up my rented large equipment?
Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered straight to your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's at your home or out in the field. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.
What are some ways to avoid penalties and extra fees on my large equipment rentals?
Think of your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get charged a late fee.
