The Home Depot Rental Center at Volo

Take on any home improvement project with the right tools for the job — even if you don't have them on hand. Rent tools, use them, and bring them back when you're done. You're free to finish your project without cluttering up your garage or shed with tools you only reach for every so often.

Tool Rental
Using The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Volo can expand the scope of your DIY projects. You won't be limited by only what you have on hand or have to settle for untrustworthy hand-me-down tools. Complete your project confidently and safely by renting quality tools. If your local store doesn't have the tool you need in stock, you might find it at another store within driving distance.

Tame the Lawn and Bushes Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower rental, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw rental, and the sidewalks and driveway with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be looking fresh and ready for new spring flowers in no time.

Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
To make your home more energy efficient, replace your insulation in the spring, if possible — before it gets dangerously hot in your attic. Rent equipment made for insulation to install it correctly. Decide between a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies properly. You'll enjoy steadier utility bills and a more consistent home temperature with new insulation.

Rental Trucks
To meet your transport needs, we keep cargo vans and pickup trucks on hand — with availability varying by store. We also offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths at certain stores. We'll have the correct size truck rental for your project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for DIY and storage projects, it's simple to make us your go-to source for moving and transport as well.

Large Equipment Rentals
Complete massive projects with professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the scissor lifts to give you a boost to the skid steers capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.

Although we're mentioning popular large equipment, truck, and tool rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular truck in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent large equipment, trucks, or tools?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You can also visit our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is carried at your store. For more details on renting large equipment or tools, read our Tool Rental FAQs, which includes terms and conditions for the equipment.

Can I rent tools or large equipment by the hour?

You can rent large equipment or tools for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement projects may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the day, month, or week, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

When can I bring the tools back?

You're welcome to return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any grime and dust from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, call your local rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I rent a truck for a week?

Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the documentation before you decide on a truck.

Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent large equipment or a truck?

No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Do I need to go get my rented large equipment?

Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment delivered to your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. Speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.

How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on rented large equipment?

Think of your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get dinged with a late fee.
