Recycling at The Home Depot

Did you know?

eco_image

Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.

eco_image

This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used for composite decking materials, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.

Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.

Frequently Asked Questions About Your Store

Do you carry wardrobe moving boxes?

Make moving or storage easier by picking up an assortment of moving boxes. We've got the sizes you need, including specialty ones like TV and wardrobe boxes. Cushion any and all items with bubble cushion and moving blankets to ensure your belongings make it to your next location safely. Look into our moving truck rentals, too, and take care of your DIY move needs in one place.

Is it good to have a generator at home?

We've got the variety you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are cleaner and quieter than traditional portable generators. They adjust to whatever power load is requested. This means they'll make less noise while they create less power. When considering different generators for sale, remember that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. For safety purposes, always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors.

Should I make siding repairs now?

Ready your home for spring temperatures swings and storms by repairing or replacing faulty parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in the crevices, you could have problems. On the outside of your home, examine shingles or metal roofing panels for damage or rust that could let water leak into your home. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams if you're still prone to ice storms and snow. Check bricks and cinder block for cracks. Indoors, verify ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. Lastly, vinyl siding and chimney caps should be changed out if damaged.

Do you have doorbell cameras?

Enjoy safety, privacy, and peace of mind with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through the peephole or a nearby window when you can see animal or human visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you chat remotely via your phone, which is useful for delivery people or to scare off would-be porch pirates. Many cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you easy accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference as needed and worry less with more control.
