How long can I rent tools?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the day, month, or week, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract before selecting a truck.
Should I refill the rental truck with gas before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Make a note of the fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the truck, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
