When you're starting to make the leap into a big DIY job, you might not have every tool you need in a shed. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Watsonville Tool Rental Center.
Tool Rental
Our tool and equipment rental choices enlarge your toolbelt and toolbox with the exact tools you require to complete the job. It's not practical to get a specific tool when you're rarely reaching for it. When you're thinking about getting a new tool, try it out first before you choose which one to purchase. Whatever your situation, we have the tools you're looking for.
Rent Post Hole Diggers, Floor Sanders, and Shop Vacuums
Tackle serious projects with reliable power tool rentals. Use a rental tiller to get your garden bed ready for planting or ensure fresh sod lays just right with a sod cutter rental. Construct a new fence around your home faster with a post hole digger rental, then utilize other concrete tools that suit your job.
Make Painting Easier with Paint Sprayers and Rental Scaffolding
Make the most of longer spring days and paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get professional coverage and work much faster than you would with a brush or roller and a paint tray. Scaffolding rentals help you reach elevated locations when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry step ladders and extension ladders for small to medium jobs, so you won't have to wait when you're feeling motivated to check that job off the to-do list.
Rental Trucks
Choose one of our trucks when you need a pickup or flatbed truck. It's great for hauling a tool rental or brand-new DIY supplies. With an excellent price and availability, our vehicles are ready to roll when you need them. We've also got box trucks and Penske moving trucks to help ease the stress of a big move. Availability varies by store, so check our FAQ or speak to an associate to make sure you choose the right rental truck for you.
Large Equipment Rentals
Complete massive projects with professional power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job. From the boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers and mini excavators for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.
Although we're mentioning specific large equipment, truck, and tool rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent a truck, tool, or piece of large equipment?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You might also visit our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your store. For more details on renting large equipment or tools, read our Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a tool or large equipment by the hour?
Tool rentals and large equipment rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, call your rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a cargo van, box truck, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the provided documentation before choosing a truck.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent large equipment or a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
How do I get my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you can get large equipment dropped off and picked up from your job site for an affordable rate — at your home or out in the field. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.
What are some ways to avoid extra fees and penalties on rented large equipment?
Think of your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get charged a late fee.
