Tool and Equipment Rental
Kick off your next home improvement job with confidence and the best tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Wentzville fill in the gaps in your toolbelt with the tools you don't have at home. Rent what you need and bring it back when the job is done. If it turns out the rental tools would be more useful than you thought, inquire about buying our retired rental tools. Compared to the new items on our store shelves, they're discounted.
Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, upgrade your insulation in the spring, if possible — before it gets dangerously hot in the attic. Rent equipment made for insulation to get it installed correctly. Decide between a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies well. You'll enjoy a more consistent home temperature and steadier utility bills with new insulation.
Tame the Trees and Lawn Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower rental, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw, and the driveway with a pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be looking fresh and ready for new spring flowers in no time.

How do I rent trucks or tools?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You might also read our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your store. For more details on renting tools, read our Tool Rental FAQs, including terms and conditions for the equipment.
Can I rent a tool by the hour?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY projects may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need them longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a cargo van, box truck, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the provided documentation before you choose a truck.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Note the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the rental vehicle, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
