When you're starting to make the leap into a big DIY project, you might not have all the tools you need in your garage or workshop. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in West Dade.
Tool Rental
Our tool rental choices enlarge your toolbelt with the exact tools you require to complete a DIY job. It's impractical to get a specialized tool when you're rarely reaching for it. When you're considering a new tool, give it a spin before you select which one to get. Whatever your situation, we have just what you're looking for.
Rent Post Hole Diggers, Floor Sanders, and Shop Vacuums
Tackle major jobs with reliable power tool rentals. Get your garden bed ready for spring with a tiller rental or ensure fresh sod lays just right with a sod cutter. Construct a new fence around your property more efficiently with a post hole digger rental, then utilize other concrete tools to securely set your fence posts.
Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Ladders
Gorgeous springtime days are a great time to tackle outdoor painting projects. Renew surfaces with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you need a paint sprayer rental for professional coverage, scaffolding rentals for painting houses or sheds, or rental ladders for painting fences, we have what you need.
Rental Trucks
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep pickup trucks as well as Penske moving trucks rental-ready — with availability varying by store. You're sure to find the right size truck rental for your project so you can keep your job on track. As your trusted source for DIY projects, packing, and storage needs, it's smart to make us your source for moving and transport as well.

How do I rent a truck or tool?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what trucks and tools are up for rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. You may also visit our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is at your store. For more on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including terms and conditions for the equipment.
Can I rent a tool by the hour?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and bigger jobs aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent tools by the month, week, or day, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I bring the tools back?
It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I choose how long to rent a truck?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the provided documentation before you choose a vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck with gas before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Note the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
