Can I rent a tool by the hour?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any grime and dust from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before choosing your vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck with gas before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
