Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, and CFLs for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store saved on energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives such as wind and solar.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our local communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our eco actions.

When are Spring Deals available at The Home Depot?
Get some of the best bargains of the season with our Spring Deals. New tools help take care of that to-do list as the weather brings sunny cheer. It's also a good time for setting up new appliances, starting lawn and garden work outdoors, and cleaning indoors. Remember to replace your outdoor power equipment as well. Get it all done when you save during our Spring Deals sale, which runs only from April 24th through May 7th. Don't miss out on these savings.
Do you carry moving boxes?
Pick up an assortment of moving boxes to make storage or moving easier. We've got the sizes you need, including specialty ones like wardrobe and TV boxes. Cushion your items with moving blankets and bubble cushion to ensure your belongings make it there safely. Don't forget to check out our moving truck rentals if you need those, too.
Is it good to have a generator at home?
We've got the options you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are quieter and cleaner than traditional portable generators. They adjust to whatever power load is requested. This means they'll make less noise in times of lesser demand. When shopping for generators for sale, remember that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. Always run your generators outdoors, away from doors and windows, for safety purposes.
How can I prepare my home for fluctuating spring temperatures?
Make sure your home is ready for spring temperature swings by replacing or repairing faulty parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in the crevices, you could be looking at trouble. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofs or shingles for rust or damage that could let water in. Gutters should be cleaned to prevent ice dams if you're prone to frozen precip as the seasons change. Check brickwork and cinder blocks for cracks. Indoors, verify ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. Lastly, swap out vinyl siding and chimney caps if damaged.
Does The Home Depot sell doorbell cameras?
Enjoy peace of mind, privacy, and safety with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through the peephole or a nearby window when you can watch animal or human visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you chat remotely via your phone, which is useful for delivery people or to scare off potential porch pirates. Many cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you easy and flexible accessibility. Save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
