Take on any home improvement project with the right tools for the job — even if you don't own them. Rent power tools, use them, and take them back when you're done. You're free to finish your project without cluttering up shed or workshop storage with tools you only need once in a while.
Tool and Equipment Rental
Using The Home Depot West Richland Tool Rental Center lets you do more complex DIY projects. You won't be limited by only what you have on hand or have to settle for untrustworthy hand-me-down tools. Rent the tools to finish your project confidently and safely. If your local store doesn't have the needed tool in stock, you could find it at another store within driving distance.
Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
To make your home more energy efficient, replace your insulation in the spring, if possible — before it gets dangerously hot in the attic. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to install it correctly. Decide between a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies well. Help keep your heating and cooling bills under control with new insulation that maintains your home's temperature.
Tame the Greenery and Lawn Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower rental, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw, and the driveway and sidewalks with a pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be ready for new spring flowers before you know it.
Rental Trucks
To move large tool rentals or anything else, we keep trucks and cargo vans ready to rent — with availability varying by store. Choose the correct size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your job on track. As your source for packing, DIY, and storage, it's easy to make us your source for moving and transport as well.
To get transportation and tools for your DIY or moving project, check out The Home Depot West Richland Tool and Truck Rental Center. Having the appropriate tools for the job is important, so let us help. We're here to help you get that project finished.
How do I rent a truck or tool?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what tools or trucks you can rent. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. You could also visit our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is available at your favorite store. For more info on renting tools, read our Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
How long can I rent tools?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement projects may only require a short rental period, and long-term jobs can also be accommodated. You've got options to rent tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
You can return the tools early if you complete your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any grime and dust from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Remember to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you must return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the documentation before choosing your vehicle.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
