The Home Depot Rental Center at W Seattle

Take on any DIY project with the right tools for the job — even if you don't own them. Rent the tools, use them, and return them when you're done. You're free to complete your project without taking up your shed or garage with tools you only need every so often.

Tool and Equipment Rental
Using The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in W Seattle lets you do more complex DIY projects. You won't be limited by only what you have on hand or have to settle for untrustworthy hand-me-down tools. Rent the tools to finish your project safely. If your local store doesn't have a tool you need in stock, try checking another one within driving distance.

Tame the Lawn and Bushes Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw rental, and the driveway and sidewalks with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be refreshed and ready for new spring flowers before you know it.

Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, upgrade your insulation in the spring, if possible — before it gets dangerously hot in your attic. Rent equipment made for insulation to get it installed correctly. Choose from a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies properly. Help keep your heating and cooling bills under control with new insulation that maintains your home's temperature.

Rental Trucks
If it's time to get started on your move but you need a truck to do it, come to The Home Depot Truck Rental Center. From flatbed and pickup trucks to box trucks and Penske moving trucks, we've got the transportation you need. We'll have the correct size for your project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. Rent a truck to check off more DIY jobs from your list. Check with your local rental center for availability, as it changes.

Large Equipment Rentals
Handle massive projects with pro power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the scissor and boom lifts to give you a boost to the skid steers for hauling materials, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.

Although we're mentioning specific tool, truck, and large equipment rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular truck in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent large equipment, trucks, or tools?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see which trucks or tools you can rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You can also visit our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is in stock at your store. For more information on renting large equipment or tools, read our Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.

How long can I rent tools or large equipment?

Tool rentals and large equipment rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY projects may only require a short rental period, and long-term projects aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I bring the tools back?

It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

How long can I rent a truck?

Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the terms and conditions before you choose a truck.

Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent large equipment or a truck?

No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Do I need to go get my rented large equipment from the store?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment dropped off and picked up from your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented equipment and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.

What are some ways to avoid extra fees and penalties on my large equipment rentals?

Think of your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra hours or days you require.
