Tool Rental
Kick off your next home improvement job with confidence and the correct tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Wilkes-Barre Tool Rental Center expand your toolbox with the tools you don't have on hand. You can rent the tools you need and return them when you're finished. If it makes sense to have those rental tools around all the time, ask about purchasing used tools. Compared to the new items on our store shelves, they're discounted.
Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, upgrade your insulation in the spring — before it gets dangerously hot in your attic. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to install it correctly. Decide between a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies properly. You'll enjoy steadier utility bills and a more consistent home temperature with new insulation.
Tame the Trees and Lawn Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower rental, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw rental, and the driveway and sidewalks with a pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be looking fresh and ready for new spring flowers in no time.
Truck Rental
Choose one of our trucks when you need a pickup truck or cargo van. It's great for hauling a large purchase that's too big for the car. With excellent availability and a price to match, our vehicles are ready to roll when you need them. We've also got Penske moving trucks and box trucks to help ease the stress of a big move. Availability varies by store, so check out the FAQ or speak to an associate to ensure you choose the right rental truck for you.

How do I rent trucks and tools?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what's available. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You may also read our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is available at your store. For more info on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including terms and conditions for the equipment.
Can I rent tools by the hour?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental for a few hours, and long-term jobs aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you complete your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off mud and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call your local rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the documentation before you select a vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck with gas before I bring it back?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
