When you're preparing to make the leap into a major home improvement project, you might not have all the tools you need in a shed or workshop. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot Woodlands Tool Rental Center.
Tool Rental
Our tool rental options expand your toolbelt with the exact tools you require to complete a DIY job. It's impractical to buy a specialized tool when you're not using it frequently. When you're looking for a new tool, do a trial run before you decide which to buy. Whatever your situation, we have the tools you're looking for.
Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Paint Sprayers
Take advantage of longer spring days and paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get optimal coverage and work much faster than you would with a brush or roller and a paint tray. Rent ladders and scaffolding to reach elevated locations when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry extension ladders and step ladders for small to medium jobs, so you won't have to wait when you're ready to get that job done.
Rent Floor Sanders, Post Hole Diggers, Shop Vacs, and More
Tackle major jobs with reliable power tool rentals. Take your scuffed hardwood floor to the next level with a floor sander rental and a wet/dry vacuum rental to get the floors smooth and ready for refinishing. Construct a new fence around your pool or property faster and more efficiently with a post hole digger rental, then utilize other concrete tools to securely set your fence posts.
Rental Trucks
To move large tool rentals or anything else, we keep pickup trucks as well as box trucks on hand — with availability varying by store. We also offer Penske moving trucks in sizes ranging from 12-feet to 26-feet at certain stores. Choose the right size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your job on track. As your source for storage, packing, and DIY, it's smart to make us your go-to source for transport and moving as well.
Large Equipment Rentals
Handle expansive projects with the right professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the scissor lifts and boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers and mini excavators for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.
Although we're mentioning popular truck, large equipment, and tool rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular truck in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent large equipment, tools, or trucks?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what trucks and tools are up for rent. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You can also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is at your favorite store. For more information on renting large equipment or tools, read our Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
How long can I rent tools or large equipment?
Large equipment rentals and tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental for a few hours, and major projects aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before you choose a vehicle.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent large equipment or a truck?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.
Do I need to go get my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered straight to your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's at your home or out in the field. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.
What are some ways to avoid penalties and extra fees on my large equipment rentals?
Treat your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get dinged with a late fee.
