Take on any home improvement project with the right tools for the job — even if you don't own them. Rent the tools, use them, and take them back when you're done. You can complete your project without taking up valuable shed or garage storage with tools you only reach for every so often.
Tool and Equipment Rental
Using The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Yakima helps you handle more complex DIY projects. No more old hand-me-down tools that limit what you can do. Complete your project confidently and safely by renting quality tools. If your local store doesn't have the tool you need in stock, it might be available at another store within driving distance.
Tame the Greenery and Lawn Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten around the garden and bushes with hedge trimmers and rental lawn mowers, and get that driveway clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be refreshed and ready for new spring flowers before you know it.
Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
To make your home more energy efficient, replace your insulation in the spring, if possible —before it gets dangerously hot in the attic. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to get it installed correctly. Choose from a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies well. You'll enjoy steadier utility bills and a more consistent home temperature with new insulation.
Large Equipment Rentals
Handle massive projects with pro equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the scissor and boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.
Although we're calling out popular tool and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular item in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
Whether you're searching for everyday tools or industry-specific equipment, we've got you covered. Let us help you complete your next DIY project with the best tools for the job.
How do I rent a tool?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what's available. You can also call first to confirm the availability of the large equipment or tools you need, or visit our tool and equipment rental page to see if it's offered at your local store. If it's not, check another nearby store or contact our Rental Center associates to learn where that tool is available. For more on tool rentals, read our Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
How long can I rent tools?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY jobs may only require a rental for a few hours, and bigger jobs aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I bring the tools back?
It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off mud and grime from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, call your rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do power saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals typically come with blades, but we recommend that you buy a new one. You'll likely not get a sharp blade when you rent, as most people won't leave one on there when they return it. However, you may luck out and receive an excellent blade on the saw. As there's no guarantee, buy a suitable blade, just in case.
Do I need to go get my rented large equipment from the store?
Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered to your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.
What are some ways to avoid extra fees and penalties on rented large equipment?
Treat your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra time you require.
