Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, and CFLs for recycling.
Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store saved on energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like solar and wind.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment and our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Is there a sale on toilets?
Yes, bidets and toilets are on sale during The Home Depot Bath Sale that runs from January 2nd through February 19th. Choose from two-piece or one-piece toilets during our toilet sale. Be sure to proceed with care if you're mounting a new toilet yourself, or contact our pros for toilet installation and let them take care of it for you. While you're at it, consider replacing your vanities, showers and shower doors, LED bathroom mirrors, and medicine cabinets as well to take advantage of these great deals.
Do I need a generator?
We've got the variety you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are cleaner and quieter than traditional portable generators. They'll adjust to the required load, making more noise when they create more power. When browsing generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. Always run your generators outside, away from doors and windows, for safety purposes.
Should I make siding repairs before it gets cold?
Ready your home for colder weather by repairing or replacing broken parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in any crevices, you could be in for a real headache. Check cinder blocks and brickwork for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. On the outside of your home, examine roofing shingles or metal roofs for damage or rust that could let water leak in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams. Lastly, swap vinyl siding and chimney caps if damaged.
Does The Home Depot sell doorbell cameras?
Enjoy safety, peace of mind, and privacy with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through an adjacent window or peephole when you can watch animal or human visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, which is useful for delivery people or to scare off wannabe porch pirates. Several cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you flexible accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference as needed and worry less with more control.
