        Answer This Question

Hi Deborah, thanks for the question. I wouldn't recommend using the primer on damp wood. The moisture could cause the primer to bubble, or interfere with the primer adhering to the wood. If you have additional questions about your project, please reach out to us directly. Our customer care team is happy to help. -Ronald

Replaced some of the old siding with new siding but not all, is it best to prime all of the siding or can I just prime the new and top coat all of the siding with the final paint color or should all of the siding be primed? Thank you!

Exceptional coverage for preparing multiple types of surfaces. We used this primer on masonry, unfinished drywall, and wood and it provided a great bonding surface for paint. We followed the instructions and highly recommend this multi-surface primer.

This primer worked great on my wooden front door after I removed all the old paint and provided a great base for the alkyd paint.

Does not adhere to plastic as specified
Applied this to our vinyl plastic hot tub panels beneath a coat of BEHR black acrylic enamel. One day later it’s peeling off in big sheets. We washed and sanded the surface for better adhesion. Applied as directed. Now we don’t know what to do. It’s ruined our hot tub. Not sure how to fix this.

                    Primer / Sealer Ceiling Paint
Used this on an unpainted 20 year old stucco ceiling and the product covered the area well with very good adhesion. I applied 2 coats of this product before finishing the project with 2 coats of ceiling paint. It seems like a lot of paint, but the finish looks great. I should also add that I started this project not knowing that the ceiling had never seen a lick of paint. Subsequently the regular ceiling paint applied just soaked into the stucco like a sponge. If you need to apply a sealer coat I would recommend this product without hesitation.

When I bought my house, built in 1915, a previous owner had put water-based paint over oil-based paint, and it was peeling everywhere. My contractor had to use a grinder with sanding wheels to get it back to bare wood. He wanted to use Sherwin Williams oil-based primer, but I had done my research and insisted on this Behr primer. After finishing a huge dormer on the back of the house, the first part to be painted with two coats of primer and two coats of paint, my contractor warned me that in a couple of weeks there would be a few blisters in the paint but that this always happens and he would sand them down and repaint them. There has never been a single blister. My contractor has to wear latex gloves when he uses this primer, because when it gets on your skin you can't wash it off. My huge old house looks amazing now. People driving by stop to tell me how pretty it is. And my contractor is now recommending this Behr primer to people!
