I'm a first time orchid grower so I wanna try Terra cotta pots since I was told they are good for orchids. However I would like to paint my orchids name on the pot.
Use a label that you would write on and insert in the pot near the rim. At some point, you will repot that plant and you may want to use that pot for a different orchid.
Just painting the name on the pot shouldn't hurt the orchid. Just don't paint the entire pot.It needs to breathe to let the potting mix dry evenly. this helps to prevent root rot.

Yes, the 6" Terra Cotta Orchid Pot has holes around the bottom for proper drainage and to prevent over-watering your plant. We recommend using a saucer underneath the pot to capture the excess water so it does not ruin any surfaces under your planter.
The orchid pots have a hole in the bottom and slits , openings, on four sides. The side openings are for the roots to breathe. Most orchids are not planted in soil and exist attached to trees, etc. Plastic pots can also be used. Orchid plastic pots also have holes in the sides.
