Does this damage wall when removed
That depends upon how it was installed, the adhesive on some pieces will remove paint when taken off the wall. If installed with screws the screws will leave holes in the walls. Mike

I'm not interested if I have to use the adhesive to attach to walls because I want to be able to move the corded item. Are there clips that could be used that screw into the wall? Need the outside diamater size to find a clip to fit around this channel.
