You can try setting it in the sun for a few hours to soften it up. If that doesn't work we recommend replacing your old putty

Depends on how top heavy the lamp is. Not sure I would count on the putty to do this job.
Hi Barbara, Quakehold Putty works great for this application. Museums use our Museum Wax to anchor statues and heavier items. I would suggest Museum Wax if you want superior hold on heavy items.
Will this hold to a brick service
Yes but could ascetically mark the brick surface. It is not recommended on porous surfaces due to staining but will absolutely hold!

Secondarily, it has been found to help prevent pictures from swinging side to side when it's placed behind the lower corners of the frame and pressed against the wall. However, it should never bear weight of any vertically hanging item. What is the difference between Museum Putty, Museum Wax, and Museum Gel? How do they compare?
Our Museum Wax and Gel are idea for translucent or glass objects where you do not one the wax or gel to show through the product. The gel is slightly clearer than the wax. Our Museum Putty is a idea for objects that are not translucent and might need a little bit of extra hold (usually for heavier objects). The putty is also a bit more pliable, so you're able to shape it to your needs and also can withstand a little bit more heat, although we suggest room temperatures for all these products.
hello i was wanting to use this putty to make reborn dolls able to have thier pacifer stay in mouth. will it hurt my doll in any way. thank you
No it will not. This stuff is great and it will not Harden to the point that you cannot take it off
As long as the material used for the dolls are non-porous, our Collector's Hold Museum Putty won't damage the dolls. We suggest testing it on an conspicuousness part of the doll first to make sure the material is non-porous.
