How are the people that say the sharpener works sharpening them? Mine catches on the wood, but even when it doesn't do that, it breaks the lead. Sharpened on a real rotary one and it did better, but I'm not trusting the pencils. So... How do you do it?
I put the sharpener in my drill and have it running slow to medium and slowly insert pencils while applying a little pressure as they start to sharpen. Slowly pushing them in further to get a nice point on the lead
Hello Tork! Thank you for your question. You should either use the sharpener by hand or with a power drill and not impact driver or impact drill.
I just bought this about 45 min ago. I used a 1/4" impact and set it to speed 1 and let R rip. Slight pressure on the pencil and got a nice sharp pencil - the tip fits in my woodpeckers and incra T square perfect.

Yes they are number 2 pencils
Yes they are, just use the large pencil sharpener usually next to the pencils. The pencil won't roll and gives a cleaner point to the edge of the material being cut.
Can these pencils be purchased in a bulk quantity like the standard carpenter pencils? ie:144 count.

What is the diameter of these pencils
If I'm not mistaken, my similar pencil measures ~10mm or ~0.39 inches. They're the larger round pencils, larger than #2 standard pencils.

Pencils and packaging have the Home depot logo. Sharpener does not have the HD logo.
