Questions & Answers

Are these permanent that could be used on fabric like for lables?
ByMay 7, 2026
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

Hi Andrea, Thank you for your question! Sharpie Oil-Based Paint Markers feature permanent, quick-drying oil-based ink that resists water, fading, and abrasion on many surfaces. While fabric is not specifically listed on the product page, many customers do use them for fabric labeling and craft projects with good results. For best performance, we recommend testing on a small area first, especially if the fabric will be washed often. For any further questions, reach out to us through https://www.sharpie.com/support/contact-us, call us at 1-800-346-3278, or connect with us on LiveChat. Are these safe to label baby bottles with? I understand they are non-toxic, but am confused from other answers on this thread if they would be okay to write on a label on the outside of a baby bottle with. Can you please advise?

        Answer This Question

Hello. Thank you for reaching out to us. We do not recommend our markers for surfaces that will come into direct contact with a baby’s mouth or food. If you're writing on a label on the outside of a baby bottle and not on the bottle itself, it should be fine. If you have any more questions, please reach out to us via our Contact Us form on our website. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am - 5pm Eastern Time. Thank you! Sharpie® Consumer Care

Can sharpie paint pens be stored in 45 degree Fahrenheit?
          ByOct 23, 2024
          1 Answer |
          Answer This Question

Hello Lena, Thank you for the question. For oil-based markers. It is much better to store them horizontaly (Flat Storage at 0°). Storing oil-based markers horizontally ensures the ink remains evenly distributed inside the barrel. This prevents the ink from settling at one end or drying out, keeping both the tip and internal reservoir ready for use. Vibrant and bright colors
I love these pens. They dry fairly quickly. Good for many art projects. They do have a little bit of an odor but nothing unbearable. They are kinda thick but have great coverage. The lighter colors sometimes need a second coat.

                Fast drying
Phewww am I glad that these are fast drying ! There is hardly and smears left on our hands/palms .. lol which is surprising considering there’s a lot of Keys on the keyboard . We did have to have a fan going on in the background to deter the smell . My kids loved the creativity freedom to design .

                    Works well for outdoor use
These oil based paint Sharpies worked well for painting rocks. The ink stays on longer when exposed to the elements bc it is oil based, not water based. The colors were true to display, I am only giving 4 stars because I think pink should be included. Why purple but not pink??

                        Highest Quality Paint Pens!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These Sharpie Paint paint pens are by far the best craft pens I have used. The colors are true and bright, looking beautiful on paper. The paint doesn't run, smudge, smear, or bleed. Lines are unbelievably smooth and even. I have a set of primary and a set of fashion colors and all of them are incredible quality. Aqua is my favorite!

                          Nice paint markers!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used these paint markers, along with some acrylic paint I already had, to paint a plant pot. These markers work really well for how I used them, but they wouldn’t do well if you were trying to paint a large area with them. The colors are vibrant and I didn’t have any issues with getting the paint to work. Very nice!!
