Questions & Answers

I have lots of leaves. Will the rubber mulch hold up to blow on the leaves off?
ByMay 19, 2025
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

A leaf blower can be used to blow debris out of the rubber mulch. For best results, a leaf blower should be used at a low setting to skim the top of the material in a horizontal motion. If the leaf blower is pointed directly down into the rubber mulch, this will cause the product to disperse.

I have a small young 1 year old tree. Would this cause disease or stop it from getting the nutrients in the soil that is needed. Live in Dallas an my yard gets plenty of sun.

          1 Answer |
          Answer This Question

This item is designed to be safe and should not cause any harm or disease to your tree. If you plan to feed your tree with plant food, we recommend temporarily removing the tree ring, applying the food to the ground around the tree, and then placing the tree ring back in position. This allows the nutrients to reach the roots more effectively and helps support the overall health of your tree.

                Answer This Question

We make our mulch from end-of-life tires, we do not change the composition of the rubber in the tire, we only reduce the size to manufacture this product.

Summarized by generative AI from text of customer reviews

Customers say the rubber mulch is a durable and visually appealing alternative to traditional wood mulch, offering long-lasting color retention and minimal maintenance. Many appreciate its ability to deter insects and weeds while providing a soft surface for play areas. However, some customers noted that the initial cost is higher and that coverage per bag may not meet expectations. Overall, the product is well-received for its performance and eco-friendly attributes.

The bags need to be a little bigger and cheaper.

The cost and coverage per square foot is basically twice the cost of wood mulch. That is the only negative. The positives are that per unit. The bags are lighter to maneuver, carry and haul. Once supplied very little maintenance is needed. This is my second application. My first was seven years ago, so it took seven years to to settle an and in need of an additional application this year. The original application of this rubber mulch was starting to fade a little bit, but not too bad since the basic material is black. The best observations that I have had was very limited bugs in the rubber mulch to almost none have not seen any ants or anthills and the wasps have not been seen. So in summary yes it is more expensive per application but for going for seven years maintenance free and not having to do an annual application as with wood mulch for me it’s a win-win and bug free.

I've been buying the rubber mulch for years. We have termites, and I won't buy the wood mulch anymore. The brown rubber mulch looks great, doesn't float away, and it lasts for years and years. I just scrape it together and remove it to a bucket, then dig up the topsoil a bit, add more potting mix, and then plant my petunias (summer) or my pansies (winter). Then I re-mulch the planter(s) with the old mulch, adding more if need be. This year (April 2025), I re-planted 7 planters and was able to re-use all of the old mulch, only needing about half of a new bag to fill in. That saves me a lot of money. I love the rubber mulch and will never go back to using wood mulch ever again. There; how's that for a product review? ??

Very happy with this product so far and will elevate this rating to full 5 star once I am able to confirm the color lasting past a few years. (advertises 10 years). A bit more expensive than the bark mulch but already seems to be doing better after a few months. Love that it's recycled material. Odor goes away after a week or so.

                  New look for garden
Replace grass and weeds with the black rubber mulch, very happy with results. You do need a few more bags than you think. After the prep work was done it was easy to install.
