What is your suggestion for removing the backing once I have adhered the tape to the first surface? I'm finding it extremely hard to do. Tried cutting the tape in a jagged way but that's not much help.

                  When nothing else holds, this will!
                  [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my new favorite tape! I have used it for so many projects. My kitchen rug kept turning up on the corner and this tape has kept it sealed to the tile for months now. It is amazing at holding up heavy items. I tried using packing tape and duct tape to hold my heavy handmade Christmas stocking on the mantle, but this was the only tape thatheld longer than 4 hours, in fact it's been 4 days already! Next project is to adhere it to a jewelry shelf that keeps tipping forward on my wall, andbest if all this tape is transparent so no one will ever know!

                    Scotch-Mount Clear Double-Sided Mounting Tape
                    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the product free from 3M. The "Scotch-Mount Clear Double-Sided Mounting Tape" did not work well for me. It stuck to the main surface of what I applied it to well, but sticking anything else onto the open adhesive side would stay on no longer than a few minutes. When taking it off the main surface, the tape left a slight residue on that surface, but there was no damage to it.

                      Still holding the shower dispenser!
                      [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolutely saved my sanity! The shower in my master bathroom had no ledge space and I worry about hanging a lot of heavy bottles from the neck of the shower head so I ordered this dispenser. The mounting tape that came with it was trash and it fell less than a day that we installed it. The dispenser was a little worse for wear after hitting the shower floor from 4' up, but it was salvageable. The Scotch MOUNT clear tape really came in clutch for me. After removing the old adhesive from the dispenser I replaced it with the MOUNT clear tape and after about 6 months it is still holding strong. There was no funky odor that sometimes comes with heavy duty adhesives and the installation was simple. One tip I would offer would be to use a utility knife to cut the tape and not scissors as I nearly broke a pair trying to unstick them from the tape. Once that error was rectified and the proper blade was in hand I was unstoppable. You also want to make VERY sure of the exact location where you are mounting your item before using, it sticks so well I couldn't imaging trying to move it.

                        Best solution for my classroom reward system!
                        [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scotch-Mount Clear Double-Sided Mounting Tape is perfect for wanting to display anything clear and have a strong, permanent bond on contact. I used the Scotch-Mount Clear Double-Sided Mounting Tape to mount my classroom marble collection jar high up so it doesn’t get knocked over, and students can’t reach it to sneak in extra marbles when I am not looking! It’s the perfect solution to my classroom reward system. This way the collection container is see through so the students know how close we are to reaching our goal to earn our classroom reward party! I have had it hanging in my classroom for the past 2 months and we were able to full the container up 2 times!!! Best solution for my classroom reward system! Thank you!

                          Very Strong
                          [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Scotch-Mount™ Clear Double-Sided Mounting Tape holds very well. I used it on a large piece of artwork where I didn’t want to put holes in my wall. While it’s not a clear frame, knowing these are clear I know that when I have something glass, this will work great and not look tacky.

                            Pretty cool
                            [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The tape itself is pretty neat. It’s not too thick, not too thin. Is holding up well so far. It is being used outdoors in a free little art gallery (like a free little library). I took off one star because the backing film on it is almost impossible to get off. I had to fuss with it a lot using a toothpick to try to grab a piece of the film to lift. Sometimes when lifting the film off, the tape itself will also come off the item it was placed on because of the adhesion on the tape itself.

                                Easily mount pictures/objects flush to the wall
                                [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works great for hanging pictures, as long as you apply it to a clean surface. The double-sided tape made it easy to hang my pictures and keep them flush against the wall. So far, it seems to be holding good, but we have the summer to go through with many days of over 100 degrees to go through yet.

                                  Great permanent mounting tape
                                  [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tape has great grip and is quite thick so it conforms to bumpy surfaces. I used mine to stabilize large shadow box frames on orange-skin textured drywall to keep it from tilting (one side has a larger item displayed). This is a permanent tape and won't be removed anytime soon. One drawback is that, since the tape is so thick, the adhesive on the side of the strip makes the roll quite sticky - I had to retrieve the packaging to store the leftover roll.

                                    It holds and is truly clear!
                                    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a sample of Scotch Clear Double Sided mounting tape to try out. There are certain situations where this would be the PERFECT solution to a mounting problem, unfortunately, I didn't have one at hand. This would be the perfect product for mounting something clear on a window, glass shower door, acrylic container, mirror - something where you didn't want the adhesive to be obvious. My husband seized on it and gave it a test. He used it to mount some items in his workshop. They had varied weights, different materials, and all were mounted on painted cement board in a humid environment. It has been over a week and all items are holding strong! He loved the tape, especially the versatility. He had a hard time removing the backing, the reason for four stars instead five. The tape can be cut to any size and is truly clear.
