How do you put a roof panel back in if it was blown out in a storm?

            Answer This Question

Hi Leila, thank you for the enquiry. You have to disassemble only the profiles probably the bottom one and try to insert the panels as you did at the time of assembly for the first time. You check on our assembly manual in the given link from page 49 : https://canopia.com/app/uploads/2022/03/82755_Palram-Canopia_Greenhouses_Victory_Orangery_Assembly_Instructions-5.pdf . Most of the commentators seem to be using wood or brick as the base. Is it ok to place the greenhouse on gravel? Assuming we?d still need to anchor it in some concrete?

Hi, the greenhouse must be anchored to a concrete slab or a wooden deck both for safety, durability and warranty purposes. For further assistance kindly contact us at https://canopia.com/contact-us

Summarized by generative AI from text of customer reviews

Customers say the Triomphe Garden Chalet greenhouse is a beautiful and functional addition to their outdoor spaces, enhancing both aesthetics and gardening capabilities. While many appreciate its sturdy design and the quality of materials, assembly is often noted as challenging due to complex instructions and numerous parts. Some users experienced issues with wind resistance and door alignment, leading to concerns about durability in harsh weather. Overall, the greenhouse is well-received for its style and effectiveness in extending the growing season, though potential buyers should be prepared for a time-consuming assembly process.

Shipping was actually much faster than what was expected! We poured a concrete curb for it to sit on, because I was worried about drainage. It took my husband about a week(working on it after he got off work) to put it together by himself. I absolutly love my greenhouse!!

Assembled, it was as pretty as the picture. But a bear to assemble, with a zillion screws. I had it professionally installed on a new cement slab and just the assembly took 2 whole days. (Of course, there was some disassembly and re-assembly!) 100 steps. I'm sure the polycarbonate panels are very strong and durable, if only they didn't seem quite so flimsy. We did get the door to latch, but not well. We are postponing buying any more from this company until we have a chance to enjoy the greenhouse. (No problem with missing parts)

                    Issues
First negative review I have ever written. I am a contractor so I am not new to building structures and this was put together as well as the design allowed. Don't bother if you have any high wind, which is almost everywhere during a storm. Lasted 3 weeks before a 47 mph gust (I have a weather station 20 yds away) racked it and blew out 8 panels, wrecked the door hinges, bent bracing, etc. Other issues prior to wind damage: The door latch system is hard to latch and shakes loose in wind. My kit did not have instructions. Just a website that is incorrect. So you have to call them (only available weekdays for my weekend project). They tell you where you can download the instructions because it doesn't come with them. The instructions are over 100 pages and the instructions on the website from the manufacturer are old so they don't match the parts you get. You then have to call again (another weekend lost) to have them tell you that you have the wrong instructions and have them email the right one to you. Frustrating. The door latch was one of the changes they made because the old system was a problem. The correction was obviously a patch that doesn't quite work right. One review mentioned siliconing or caulking the panels to the frames. If you buy this kit I highly recommend you do this. I think this will greatly strengthen the structure. I did not because we get a lot of hail here and I was worried that I would need to replace the thin plastic panels. Now that I have seen how unbelievably tough the polycarbonate panels are I am convinced nothing will go through them. Hopefully this helps.

Looks really good but putting it together is a pain. The panels are not cut perfectly, because of this, there were a lot of flexing. I tried emailing customer service but no response. Door handles are cheap plastic. Vents opener are also plastic. Droping 2500 on a greenhouse, I would expect a little better parts.

THIS GREENHOUSE IS VERY UNSTABLE UNTIL THE BASE, WALLS, and ROOF ARE FULLY ASSEMBLED. I would estimate the assembly requires 50 people hours or more. Here are some tips I found would be useful during assembly. Tip #1. Make sure the base is very, very square with each angle set to 90 degrees and secured to the foundation. The squarer you assemble and attach the base the easier the rest of the assembly will be. Tip #2. In the beginning steps, the metal wall panel holders, let’s call them wall joists, can fall over very easily. I would suggest making a simple scaffolding using string or binder twin. Tie the string at 3 to 4 feet high and run the string on the OUTSIDE within 1/2 “of where the finished walls will be. Tie your scaffolding to anything you can find such as lawn furniture or wheelbarrows or just put in stakes. Temporary tie each metal wall joist to the string as you bolt them to the base. This acts like a hand holding the wall joist at 4 feet high so it won’t fall over and bend before the next step. When you slide the wall panels in the wall joists just remove the temporary ties you made to the string scaffolding. See attached pictures.Tip #3. The roof, uses joists similar to the walls and there is some play in how you bolt them down. On the back roof push the roof joists as high as you can. The front roof around the door is different. Get the plastic piece on step 55 and use it to adjust the roof joist so it can be screwed into that piece or you will have to adjust the roof joists later to make it fit to that piece. Tip #4. As you assemble the roof you can GENTLY push the walls right or left to help with your assembly. Remember, the structure is not perfectly square as you build it. Tip #5. Goof OFF “Safe for plastic” can help remove the goop left over from labels. I used it on the roof panels but be sure you don’t scratch the panels. Use a soft cloth. Tip #6. Since it takes a few days to finish this, I would use your ladders each evening to support the structure. See attached pictures. Put a ladder in the doorway and tie a piece of wood to the top and then tie that wood to the wall joists. You can also do this with the other walls to help support them overnight so the wind does not blow the structure over. Tip #7. At any time during your assembly, look ahead several steps in the instructions to see if a part, in a future step, can help you assemble the current step you are doing. We did this several times during the assembly and it is helpful. Tip #8. Be aware, the assembly pictures are viewed by the inside of the greenhouse sometimes and from the outside sometimes. Look at the pictures carefully. It is a nice greenhouse and I hope these tips will help you. I like the greenhouse. Good luck!

Just an update. My greenhouse was completely destroyed this winter. The base was intact but the aluminum was actually torn around the joints. I did insure it because I thought this would happen. Now planning a conventional wooden greenhouse

Well Engineered but a little complicated to put together. Have to really look at the drawings carefully on part alignment. Especially the roof ribs to top of side placement. Had one major hurtle with square panel for side gables. Plastic had a trailing edge that would not let section come together. Once trimmed, was good. All in all a pretty descent unit once together. Would place on concrete only.

The Palram Orangery Greenhouse is a little architectural gem. The greenhouse is exactly what we hoped it would be when we purchased it. We have turned it into a small sunroom and greenhouse. It resembles a small cathedral. Initially, it seemed flimsy, but after it was fully constructed it is very sound. Construction was no easy task. It took my wife and me 100 hours combined to build the structure. After the initial few steps, we learned the basic premise behind how the greenhouse was designed how it was to be assembled. Each subsequent step became easier complete. We're delighted with it.

Wonderful greenhouse. Every single piece was in the packages with some extra! We are retrofitting the side panels with screens for the summer (should be an option). Not bad putting it together if you are organized and take your time! (Words would be helpful in some places). Make sure you anchor it down. Ours is screwed to the deck! Really nice!
