Hello Rachel, the Sterilite 116 Qt Ultra Storage Box is made out of polypropylene. Sterilite only uses high quality FDA food safe grade plastics that are non-toxic. These plastics do not contain PVC's, Latex, Teflon, Phthalates chemicals, fungicides, Bishphenol A (BPA), or antibacterial chemicals. Nor do we use them in the manufacturing process of our items. Sterilite products are 100% recyclable, and the triangular recycling symbol may be found on the bottom of all items.
