I want to use this in a planter, so size is important. How far apart are the stakes?

Answer This Question

While the trellis doesn't come with hardware for joining two together, you can easily connect and secure them using various methods. Here are a few options: * **Zip Ties:** Heavy-duty zip ties offer a quick and simple solution for binding the trellises together. Overlapping the frames and using multiple zip ties will create a strong connection. * **Wire or Twine:** Garden wire or strong twine can be wrapped around the connecting points of the trellis frames. This method allows for adjustability and a secure hold. * **Metal Brackets or Plates:** Small metal brackets or plates can be screwed onto the trellis frames at the joining points for a more permanent and sturdy connection. Once joined, you can drive stakes into the ground alongside the combined trellis and secure it with zip ties, wire, or twine. Alternatively, you can dig a shallow trench and bury the bottom portion of the trellis for added stability.

    Picture is not correct
I’m so glad the listing photo is wrong. The actual trellis is not perfectly square. The middle bar breaks up the middle section into rectangles not squares. This is the one I needed to match the one I bought last year. .

It’s a perfectly fine trellis. Not very tall but adequate. The most disappointing thing is that the stakes are not cut on an angle - they’re square. That makes getting them into the dirt very difficult without either digging a hole or breaking the trellis.

I originally went into the store for metal trellis' but they were out of stock, so I opted for these wooden ones (I purchased 2). The trellis seemed to be well put together at first, but upon placing them in the ground the crossbars started to pop out and become disconnected. Since they were just held together with staples, I pushed them back in, but will have to find a way to better secure them. At $19 each they should be of better quality. No, I wouldn't recommend these unless you are placing them in loose sand or mud.
