I WANT TO CUTY NYLON CARPET WITH LATEX BACKING FOR WALL-TO-WALL IN BATHROOM - NEVER DONE BEFORE - WILL THIS BE POSSIBLE?

Answer This Question

Probably not because I never went back to purchase another pair. Try the Weiss 10 in HD Tradesman Shop Shears Model CW10TM. We cut through a lot of vinyl and those seem to have been the best so far,

    Answer This Question

The exposed metal on the Milwaukee Jobsite Straight Scissors is to show that these scissors are made with all metal handle loops that will survive 1000+ drops.

            Yes

Depends on the thickness of the pile. For small modifications and adjustments for fitting or for trimming excess but it certainly would not replace a dedicated heavy duty carpet cutting tool.

Yes. But it's a struggle. Use airplane snips for an easier time.

              By|May 7, 2021

It would depend on how thick the laminate is. I’ve cut thick carpet with them

I would say get yourself a utility knife and a few blades it would work better for your application, Hope this helps! Chris

              By|Dec 6, 2020

It can.. but it's not worth it. Buy a pair of snips or use a straight edge and utility knife on back side and bend the tile to break it after scoring it good.

                By|Oct 13, 2020

Pending the thickness. Does it have hard/soft backing. I would say no.

Good but got blister with continued use
The title pretty much says it all. I have fairly calloused hands but these scissors rubbed the thumb-side of my indeed finger until it was raw and blistered after 30 minutes of constant use. (I had to finish the task with my index finger out of the handle—which was okay but more tiring for my hand.) Overall, the handle seems too small. Otherwise, for occasional use, they're perfectly good.

I bought these to cut open that darn hard to open clamshell plastic packaging, just like the one this product is in! LOL... After taking a utility knife to Milwaukee's packaging and getting these really nice scissors out of it clamshell, I tried to cut its own packaging... and it cut it with no effort! Even the doubled edges YES! (see pic) These really feel great in your hand and are super solid, there is a nice rubber material where your hand touches the handle for great control. Just like a fine knife is made, the metal goes thru the whole handle, and it's a full 1/8" thick at that. The scissors are 9" long and have a handy 1/4" spaced ruler engraved on one of the blades that's 3 3/4" long, (it should have been 1/16" or at the least 1/8"). The blades are held together with 2 special washers (they call Bolt Loc) that prevents them from coming apart while in use, if you ever need to sharpen them and take them apart, there is a nice Allen screw that can be removed. There is an index finger groove built into the front of the handle for extra control. I found that I was even able to wear gloves using these, as well as even cutting with either hand, which is cool, as I'm lefty but have always used righty scissors, now when I use these lefty they feel great! It comes with a limited lifetime warranty. My wife now wants a pair for the kitchen, so at the under $20 price point I'd suggest to just go ahead and buy two while your at it! Big and sturdy scissors!
We purchase our first pair of these scissors way back and is doing great we still have them. Its sharpness is on point. So then we purchased a second pair but this pair in particular started to rust on us. They still cut nicely and function well just the rust makes it unpleasant.
