Cultivate a beautiful array of container plants with Miracle-Gro Potting Mix. This potting soil mix Grows Plants Twice As Big!* In addition, the added fertilizer feeds all types of container plants for up to 6 months. With this gardening product, you can expect more blooms for more color*. This container mix works best with outdoor container plants, including your favorite flowers, annuals, perennials, vegetables, and shrubs. To apply, select a pot with a drain hole. Fill the pot about 1/3 full with potting soil. Loosen the root ball of your plant and place it in the pot. Add more potting mix and press lightly to level. Water your plant and let it drain. For optimal results, refer to plant tags for specific sun and shade needs. Let mix dry to the touch between waterings; do not allow plants to sit in drainage water. To avoid soil compaction and replenish nutrients, all container plants should be repotted annually or as needed with fresh Miracle-Gro Potting Mix. Can this soil be used for houseplants
Thank you for your question. The Miracle-Gro Potting Mix is ideal for both indoor houseplants and outdoor container plants such as window boxes or patio plants. While there would be no harm in using it for a soil amendment in flower beds or vegetable gardens, garden soils that are formulated for that use are a better option.
Does this work well for lawns as well to build a stronger foundation?
Potting mixes such as Miracle-Gro Potting Mix are formulated for indoor or outdoor container plants only. For lawn use, you want to choose a top soil or an inground soil which should be mixed at least 50/50 with the native existing earth. Otherwise, distinct soil layers will form which are not good for the growth of seed.
Is this considered light, fluffy, & well-/fast- draining? Is this formula suitable for geophytes (plants with underground storage systems like bulbs, corms, tubers, or rhizomes)? Is there a more suitable mix? Thank you!
