Hello Lynne, we do recommend using support brackets to prevent sag. You could choose to install without center support, but you may encounter issues with the integrity of the installation.

Due to the length of this installation, you would need center support- this model comes with 3 center support brackets, in addition to the 2 end brackets, for a total of 5. My wall length is 216”. Does this rod need middle supports? I do not want to use middle supports so I can push all the curtains to one side when not covering windows.
