Hello- Unfortunately, you cannot purchase the base separately. Thank you!
No, it’s one piece. Just change your knobs.
The Traditional Classics knob is not available in a polished chrome finish. Thank you!
Yes, the screw is included.
Yes, it’s included. Not sure of length.
The tubing does go into the door but not enough to create a problem on my 1” thick doors. Just guestimating, I would say the tubing is about 1/2” long. Your cabinet maker just needs to make sure he doesn’t drill the tube holes all the way through the door only to the depth of the tube.
The tube is 1/4" diameter, and is intended to go into the face of the drawer. That means you have to drill the hole for the screw (which is smaller), and then go back and re-drill just the first 1/2" of that screw hole to make it 1/4" in diameter to accommodate the tube. That isn't a big deal, and the cabinet-maker shouldn't be drilling the holes 1/4" wide all the way through so they might need a washer to keep them from wobbling.n In other words, the holes should be 1/4" wide for the first half inch, and smaller for the back part of the hole where the screw goes.
The tube is part of the knob, and must be inserted in the face of the drawer, which requires a larger diameter hole. You need a hole that is about 1/4" for the tube, but only for the first 1/2" depth from the face of the drawer. If you want the screw to fit precisely, the rest of the hole needs to be smaller. So I started with a smaller drill sized to fit the screw and drilled all the way through the face of the drawers, then went back with a 1/4" bit and re-drilled just the first 1/2" of each hole.
