Can I use Forklift Propane Tanks on this unit
          ByJan 19, 2024

          Answer This Question

I'm using a 33 lb forklift LP tank on mine. Works great. Just be sure to use the vapor only port/valve. The fitting and valve for the forklift supplies liquid LP. Forklifts have vaporizers to convert the liquid to a gas as well as the proper regulator.

Hi Vito. According to DeWalt, the minimum recommended LP tank size is 40 pounds. This heater uses a standard POL left hand thread coupling. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. Rick_HD_OC

My house is under construction. It's a mountain home so our main heating fuel is propane (1,000 gallon tank). This tank is regulated to supply fuel to our HVAC & Gas stove. Can I hook my propane source to this heater and not use bottles? thx

              Answer This Question

Thank you for your inquiry. This heater wants an unregulated propane source, and is unlikely to work if connected to a preregulated tank. Have a great day!

The specs show "Indoor/Outdoor". The comparison shows this heater "Indoor/Outdoor" Nearly every single comment says outdoor only, do not use indoor,etc... Please correct. ps Honey I will use indoors, if it doesn't workout, this should strenghten your case

Thank you for your review and feedback. Though the heater is not safe for use in a home, these are commonly used indoors in ventilated garages or construction sites. Enerco

Got the DXH90FAV today, 02/2020. Out of the box it worked flawless. I've had D Glo's in the past. When I had to put my third thermocouple in my D Glo this past week (third one this winter), I decided to pursue something that doesn't require as much attention and money poured into it. Never did I realize what a piece of garbage my D Glo was until I fired up the Dewalt. Mind you, this particular D Glo was only two years old. The Dewalt, (which is made by Mrs. Heater's husband by the way), runs unbelievably quiet, and not only is it quiet, it burns with a blue flame. The D Glo's always burnt with a yellow flame. Blue flame translates to more heat from your propane dollars and also more heat appreciated from the unit. I can actually feel the heat from this thing ten feet away, on low, where with the D Glo I had to be within three feet to feel anything. My building is 24 X 32, un insulated . Today in Ohio we were in the low 30's, after ten minutes my building was at 60 degrees with the Dewalt running on low. This thing is built so much better than the D Glo, as it has the split barrel design which provides faster easier maintenance, (which I hope I don't need for a while). The fasteners are threaded into thread inserts rather than the D Glo design which is to thread the fasteners into roughly 20 ga. sheet metal. I've had to take apart my D Glo's so many times over the years to replace thermocouples that half the fasteners are stripped in the sheet metal. Spent a bit more money for the Dewalt, yet hopefully the savings from not constantly replacing thermocouples combined with the savings from actually burning with a blue flame rather than yellow will pay off. If time altars my opinion of this heater I will post an amendment to this review. So far it appears Dewalt lives up to it's time honored reputation.

Too loud, contrary to advertised claims, no on/off switch, requires the unit to be unplugged. Have used the unit 5 times. I would NOT recommend this product.
