Do the buttons work if you're wearing gloves? I'm wondering about how it works in the winter... will I have to take my gloves off each time I need to type in the code?

I do not want the door to auto-lock. Can I shut off the auto-lock altogether?

It would be necessary to program it to do so therefore it will not auto-lock unless you wish for it to complete this task. This lock will not accommodate a 2 1/4 inch thick door from packaging however a thick door kit part number B489-106 can be purchased separately to accommodate up to 2 1/2 inches.
