Why won’t it pressurize?
Hi Home Depot Customer, If your sprayer is not building pressure, please check the following steps: 1. **Check the Pressure Relief Valve:** Ensure the yellow pressure relief valve is fully closed. It should be turned to the right to seal the tank. If it is turned to the left or left in an open position, the tank will not hold pressure. 2. **Inspect the Pump Assembly:** Ensure the pump assembly is screwed into the tank tightly by turning it clockwise. 3. **Lubricate the Plunger Gasket:** If the pump is not working smoothly, the plunger gasket may need lubrication. Remove the pump assembly, unlock the handle, and apply a generous amount of **petroleum jelly** around the outside of the plunger gasket. 4. **Verify the Supply Tube:** If you are pumping but only air is coming out, the supply tube may not be attached correctly. Unscrew the hose from the tank, remove the pump assembly, and ensure the supply tube is properly connected to the hose and inserted into the tank. 5. **Check for Clogs:** A bad spray pattern or lack of pressure can sometimes be caused by a clog in the nozzle, wand, or hose. Disassemble these parts and clean them thoroughly with fresh water. If you continue to experience issues, you can contact HDX Customer Service for further troubleshooting at 1-800-253-4642.
Can I use it to paint?
Hi Home Depot Customer, No, this sprayer should not be used for paint. The product description and chemical recommendations explicitly state that it is not intended for use with paint, stains, or highly viscous materials, as these can clog the system and damage the internal components.

How do you release the handle from the bottle if you close it too tightly
Release all the pressure using the yellow release valve. Then take a long bar and insert it through the handle diagonally, turn in the direction to unscrew and it should budge.
Can I use this to spray an all-purpose cleaner to clean an outdoor patio rug?

How wide is the spray pattern when it hits the ground? I want to cover 500 sq.ft.
