Has anyone found cushions that fit well?
Do these need any kind of protective coating added? I don't want water to rot the wood, or the sun to make they color grey.
Whats the weight on the seated area.
Do you have to attach the bench? Can the two boxes be used by without the bench?
I purchased this but didn't use the bench as intended. I put the boxes next to my arbor trellis and it was actually cheaper and faster to get this then had I ordered the boxes individually. The open bottom is better this way for plant roots
You do not have attach the bench to the boxes. They can be used independent of bench.
I've seen people say they've waterproofed this-some with polyurethane and some with a wood wax that repels water. Just curious about how each method has held up.
I spayed my with some satin polyurethane as I wanted to protect the color this season as I needed them installed quickly and next year before the season I'll brush on a heavier quality protection that will last longer
