HLBSL 6 in. Color Selectable (2700K-3500K) New Construction or Remodel Canless Recessed Integrated LED Kit

I have 4 of these in my house already and we love them. So, when I was moving my office to our basement, I picked up 6 more (4 for office, 2 for a different area of the basement). For those wondering, if you remove the hardware from the back and gently push out the light, you can paint the trim ring. I painted mine flat black to go with what I had going on downstairs. Turned out really well!! I will buy more!

This light is amazing to work with. I have installed many of them and they all work really well. I love being able to switch between the different light colors. I also really like how easy they are to install: cut a hole, wire it, snap it in, done; its that simple. No more messing with adjusting a can light. You can even install these over a stud/rafter. These lights also look really good. They mount flush and have no breaks in the seem (unless you have a textured ceiling, in which case, make sure the texture isn't too rough, but I suppose you would have that problem with any light you install). The electric box is also very easy to use. They have push connections that make things simple. I was skeptical at first of the push connection, but after a few pull tests, I was comfortable with the installation. These lights are great.

I LOVE everything about these lights, except the price. I guess, I LIKE the price. You can find other less expensive versions of these lights out there, but they usually not have selectable color temperature and selectable color temp is important for many reasons. 1) when you and your wife are trying to agree on just how bright you want the livingroom. There are 5 different color settings available. 2) All rooms do NOT require the same amount of brightness. ( Closet vs bedrooom ) 3) if you already have existing lights, being able to change the color of these new lights from warm white to cool white will help "match" color temps with the existing lights So, spending the extra money may be worth it in some situations, and may be not in others. That is up to you. One more thing...when they say new construction, that includes your existing house when you decide to add ceiling lights where there were no ceiling lights before. **These lights are not the optimal choice if you are trying to replace old bulbs in existing can lights and upgrade to LED. There are better choices for that application. **

This 6 inch LED is super easy to install and provides a lot of light for its size. The construction is very durable, and it can be installed in a drywall ceiling, or metal (in my case). The kit includes a template, which makes marking the mounting hole super simple. The color temperature of the light is also easily adjustable, which is a nice feature. I appreciate the nice clean look of the product after final installation. Definitely recommend!

Halo HLBPH 6 inch Selectable CCT Canless Recessed Downlight w/Remote Driver/Junction Box LED Kit. This light fixture is a perfect replacement for a standard 75 watt incandescent light fixture. This light fixture does not require a traditional recessed light can. It is designed to be directly mounted in the ceiling and comes with beefy spring arms with rubber coated tips to help hold the fixture in place. This 6" in light outputs 1,015 lumens with only 14.2Watts of energy. The LED driver reduces the power to 33.3VDC (330mA) and that is how the heat output of the LED light itself is minimized and can be practically buried in insulation without causing excessive heat built-up in it. Canless lights have had in the past this problem, and some have massive heatsinks designed to address this issue and increase the longevity of the LED arrays. Cooper lighting have done outstanding job with the design of this light combining the effect of utilizing the backplate as heatsink and taking out the heat generating component outside in a separate J-box. This design has proved to be the optimal to ensure ease of installation, servicing and replacement if needed, and normal usage. To the regular user this means that you get a light that works consistently at all dimming stages between 5% and 100% output, without humming noise or flickering. Installation is very easy, using the provided carboard stencil for measuring the 6" opening. It can be completed without having access thought the attic. The J-box has plastic strain relief clamps which may not be code compliant in every state. For those there are two punchout holes for regular clamps that you need to buy separately. Connections are done with the provided 4-point wagos - you simply cut, strip and push to connect. The design of the box is compliant with NEC2020 and the product is UL listed and energy star compliant. The box has sufficient volume to allow for in and out of 14-gauge connection, lamp wires and the wago connectors without squishing cables together too tight. The box is different from previous designs that you don't have the mandatory hanger brace, and you can screw the box to the joist from inside the box, or alternatively, use the provided brace and the screws to attach the hanger plate to the box and then hang the box to the joist. Color temperature is set manually from the J-box between 2700 and 5000K, I found 4000k to be closely resembling natural daylight. Connection between the box and the light is done with a watertight connection. The entire light set is IC rated for damp locations and can be used in bathrooms. Dimming is gradient and transitions are smooth. The light does not produce any humming, buzzing or ultrasound making it pet and baby friendly. The ring around the light is 6.7" (17cm). The light is only 1.26" (3.2cm) thick. Because of the wide area of the light set, light dispersion is very good, without the light leaving an impression of glare, it is very unobtrusive and yet it provides nice and even light dispersion at even more than the noted 105°. For a regular 8' ceiling you get a light coverage of a radius of almost 20 feet. Normally, you overlap 5 feet, and the overlap does not create noticeable brighter or darker spots. The cover is glossy, and the white ring is semi-gloss. I expected to see a foam ring around the lip, but there wasn't one provided. However, the retention of the springs on a 1/2" sheetrock was sufficient enough to provide a close seal between the lip and the ceiling. At that price it is a perfect lighting solution that would pay for itself in energy savings while providing a very classy and contemporary outlook of the area. Online ordering is certainly an option, the packaging of the product is very strong and well made to protect the light fixture.

This HALO recessed downlight is a very high quality light. HALO lights seem to me to be a notch above in overall quality. This one requires only 14.2 watts to produce about a 75 watt bulb equivalent light. Very efficient and it is Energy Star rated. Surface finish is very nice in an off-white hue. The wiring box and wire connectors are provided. This light is suitable for wet locations with covered ceilings. Simple and quick for new construction or remodeling. Does not require a can for installation. Snaps in place in your drywall ceiling.

Halo HLBPH6 Slim Edge LED 6"downlights are thin canless recessed lights. They can be used in new construction, remodel and retrofit installation, without recessed housing. This light was very easy to install. The springs are very strong, and it is easy to tell when the springs are engaged, no awkward gap from a weak spring. Prior to installing you can change light brightness and from warm/cool with 5 different settings. ( 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, 5000K) The brightest is very bright, in a good way! If needed, it's easy to take in and out to adjust light. The fixture is small and lightweight. Installing it is very straight forward and uses an easy clip in system.

I ordered the Halo HLBPH 6 inch selectable CCT new construction canless recessed downlight. It is easy and straight forward to install once you've located the power wires and a hole in the ceiling. No housing or j-box needed with this Halo canless recessed lighting. Suitable for use in both wet/dry environments. 5-different color temperature settings ranging from warm (2700K) to daylight (5000K). Brightness is 1061 Lumens (at 3000K color temperature). 6 inch recessed lighting produces light equivalent to a 75-Watt bulb but uses just 12-Watt. It looks great and functions well.

I’m giving a try to this new Halo HLBPH 6 in. canless recessed light with selectable CCT and junction box, and my impression at first this is a great product design because allows me to install the light with easy even though I found a joist over the ceiling where I enlarge the cut to fit the light, its canless low profile let me do it, the junction box is great because it comes with pushing connectors which makes the installation really faster and if installing more than one is great to avoiding twisting cables with wire nuts. The integrated switch selector is awesome because let’s me choose the light intensity I want. This light kit comes with a printed cut out for exact cutting size and the junction box with and side metal wing that needs to be installed on it when regulation codes are required. The smooth glass and trim gives a modern and elegant light style. It’s waterproof which makes it perfect for a shower and it’s dimmable too.
