This usually becomes dormant and will grow back as the temperature warms up.

    By|Jan 11, 2023

It may not grow in winter at all, but it will live thru any winter weather including Siberia. For best growth, it prefers mild winters and sunny summers. It will thrive where average temperatures of 68-86°F (20-30°C) during spring-early summer are common. Soil temperatures above 65°F (18°C) favor growth and regeneration after harvest. I did not have luck with mine because the summers get too hot here in Yuma Arizona and you should check your climate and temps for suitability. It does not tolerate hot summers.

It depends on the zone you live in, i line in NYC- zone 7 and the plant dies down during the winter months and then comes back up in the spring.

You can grow German thyme indoor in the winter months. You will need an area with a consistent temperature and lots of natural light (or a grow lamp). A 10" pot with drainage holes. Light soil and nutrient-rich fertilizer.

These plants came to me in horrible condition. The extremely dry soil was spilled out everywhere and the plants were limp and dead in some places. Thankfully I am in the process of rehabbing them and they are doing much better. Still a ways to go but they will make it

I had a big thyme plant outside for years and I forgot to water it this winter and lost it during the drought. Hopefully these will do as well they seem quite healthy.

Can barley give these plants a 2 rating. They've been in the ground for a while now and are slowly dying. On the contrary, I also purchased 2 basil plants at the same time and they are doing great. See photo

They should not offer these online in the summer. Rosemary and chives were fine, but these barely survived the days in a hour ups truck. Trimmed to the roots and seeing if they'll regrow.

One of the thyme plants arrived already dead; the other was half-dead. I hoped to revive the one that still had some life in it, but was unsuccessful.
