About This Product

Cultivate a beautiful array of container plants with Miracle-Gro Potting Mix. This potting soil mix Grows Plants Twice As Big!* In addition, the added fertilizer feeds all types of container plants for up to 6 months. With this gardening product, you can expect more blooms for more color*. This container mix works best with outdoor container plants, including your favorite flowers, annuals, perennials, vegetables, and shrubs. To apply, select a pot with a drain hole. Fill the pot about 1/3 full with potting soil. Loosen the root ball of your plant and place it in the pot. Add more potting mix and press lightly to level. Water your plant and let it drain. For optimal results, refer to plant tags for specific sun and shade needs. Let mix dry to the touch between waterings; do not allow plants to sit in drainage water. To avoid soil compaction and replenish nutrients, all container plants should be repotted annually or as needed with fresh Miracle-Gro Potting Mix. One 1 cu. ft. bag of Miracle-Gro Potting Mix fills two 12-inch containers. *Vs unfed plants

                                  ? Do you mean this, or do you actually mean rvis? Not sure what rvis is, but you can use this to start tomato seeds or any other seeds, but there is also an option of buying seed starter pods, which have a great outcome as well. You could try some in miracle grow and some in the starter pods and see which does better.

                                              That would depend on what is going into the pot. An existing plant with roots and dirt or seeds? And how tall is the container. It is good potting soil and I always keep a bag on hand. I would buy the bag, it is nice to have extra dirt on hand

                                                      I have used Miracle-Gro since I moved into my home in 1985. I use it in all my pots, my raised Garden Beds and absolutely love it. I have big beautiful plants every year.

                                                      Mushroom invasion
                                                      This is the first year that I’ve been unhappy with this product! I used it when potting my peppers and flower boxes, as I have done for the past four years. This year I have tons of odd mushrooms growing in each pot. After they die out they leave behind a weird clump of. Anyone else with this problem?

                                                        It's a Miracle
                                                        This is a perennial Hibiscus on it's 3rd season. I left it in the nursery soil originally. It almost died the first season. I kept it over the winter somehow and last summer it lived, but looked like Charlie Brown's Christmas tree. Don't know why I kept it, but this spring I replanted it with Miracle grow soil. This little hibiscus that could, has transformed into a thriving, beautiful plant. Unbelievable.

                                                          Bugs in your potting soil!!
                                                          I bought two new bags, have used only one. Two plants had to be re potted and my husband helped me take them outside, took them out of the pots, and I literally hosed off all the old potting soil and then put them in bigger pots with the new soil. I now have once again been infested with bugs from your potting soil! I have fought what I thought were fungus gnats from your soil for months and almost had them eradicated, but thought it was maybe due to storage of the bags at the store. Never again!!

While we do not sterilize the soil it is composted to kill any harmful insects and microbes. Unfortunately, soils may become infested with insects while in storage or while they are waiting for sale. Below are some steps you can take: -Let the soil dry out more between each watering. Dry soil helps kill the larvae. Most people tend to over water their plants, and this can make the problem worse. It's especially important to drain the saucers of excess water. Anything left after an hour should be poured out. -Apply at least 1/2 inch of sand on top of the soil of potted/container plants. Larvae cannot burrow through the sand and will die. Sand should be left on the container for several weeks until the problem is solved. -To catch the adults you can try putting a small bowl of cider vinegar with a drop of dishwashing liquid near the houseplants or use yellow sticky traps. -Insects will not disappear overnight. It may take several weeks but you should begin to see a reduction in insect numbers. All houseplants in the home should be treated. We want you to be confident in our products.                                                             Here we go again!
                                                            I wrote a review 9 days ago concerning the "Potting" soil. I then purchased the "Garden" soil. Really bad idea! It was full of mold and smelled really really bad! But, I thought I'd just let it dry out and maybe it would be usable...not so! The mold just hardened up. I can not believe that this company has gotten this bad!!!@

                                                              No more potting soil??
                                                              I have been shocked and saddened by Miracle Gro Potting Mix product, which I assume is being marketed as a replacement for Miracle Gro Potting Soil. In my opinion, it is nothing but peat moss and sticks! I have spent the morning picking out 4” clods of hard peat moss and adding huge amounts of Pearlite to make soil fit to grow flowers. I used it a week ago, unamended, in several flower beds, and it turned into concrete within two days! I literally could not loosen the soil with my fingers. Even using a spade, the soil just broke into big, compacted clods. I can hardly believe that Miracle Gro — which has been a gold standard in quality potting soil for decades — has decided to yield to pressure from “green bullies,” whose experience with gardening (if they have any at all) often consists of a few little grow boxes on apartment balconies and a belief that “organic” anything will save mankind — and/or the common malady of chasing after the gods of corporate profit. After all, if you can brainwash customers into believing that Martha Stewart is the real Mother Earth, that her testimony of Miracle Gro Organic soil is actually an altruistic public service announcement, and that they would be foolish to rely on their hard-earned gardening experience and place their delicate, young plants into the LaBreya tar pit of peat moss. I realize this review is sounding rabid. Most people consider me a kind, accommodating person. However, I work so hard each year to grow lovely, healthy flowers and plants, and to be kicked in my shins by a product that should be a support to my efforts, not a Trojan horse of sabotage, is a painful disappointment. I am just so, so sad that Miracle Gro has become another entry on my long list of let-downs.

                                                                Too much non soil ingredients
                                                                I have enclosed a photo the number of wooden sticks, petrified wood and some sort of cotton like substance I found in 3 cups worth of Miracle Grow Potting soil. The amount of time it takes to weed out this material is not worth it. I’m going elsewhere.

                                                                  Not like it used to be
                                                                  I have used the potting mix for years and all my plant grow and bloom so well! This year it’s not the same! Some plants are barely surviving! Seems to have more pine bark than before and not sure what else has changed. I’m on my fifth bag and so disappointed!

                                                                    Poor soil
                                                                    I have always used Miracle Crow potting mix for many years this year seems that something is different about it I I live in Iowa I am very disappointed with this years batch my plants suffered severely from non-germination to my transplants withering and dying I'm an avid gardener with a greenhouse so I know what I'm doing very disappointing we'll buy something different next year can't afford to have my plants die

                                                                      I use the organic miracle grow potting soil, and in the past, I have found sticks in it. This year, I found trash, plastic bags, etc.
