I have two switches in my laundry room that operate one light. The switches have a red wire, plus two black, one ground. What do I wire the red wire to when I replace the one switch with the Motion Sensor switch?

Here's how to handle it: Wiring the MS-OPS5M in a 3-Way Setup Identify the Traveler Wires: In a typical 3-way switch setup, the two black wires and the red wire are usually: One black wire: Common (hot or load) Red and the other black: Travelers between the two switches Determine Which Switch to Replace: The MS-OPS5M can only replace one of the two 3-way switches. The other must be replaced with a Lutron companion switch (MA-AS) or left as a standard 3-way switch, depending on your wiring and model. Wiring the Red Wire: If you're replacing the switch that has the red traveler wire, you will typically connect the red wire to the blue wire on the MS-OPS5M. The black traveler goes on the black wire on MS-OPS5M; either black wire works. The common wire (usually black) goes to the remaining black wire on the MS-OPS5M. Ground goes to the silver bare wire on the switch. Neutral (white) is required for the MS-OPS5M to function. If your box has a neutral, connect it to the white wire on the switch. Can you lock out the switch and use only the sensor?
