The wood on the chair is more of a yellow. However, I bought 2 of these chairs and within 8 months, one of the legs broke off the chair and the warranty had expired. Not a good investment.

No, the covers are not removable. And this is a very light color (off-white). It is a beautiful chair, and I'm happy with it, but I have no children or pets. I think it would show pet hair easily. It would need to be cleaned with an upholstery attachment of a wet or dry vacuum.
