How do you adjust the shelves without taking the doors off? We tried to depress the plastic holders and pop one side up, but the other side was still rigid in it's holders. It seems you can only slide them out, but you'd have to remove the doors to do so.
I use the rounded handle of my paint can opener to put on the top plastic (no tip) tab on the front clip, slightly lifted the shelf, pressed on the rear clip and tapped the shelf underneath and it releases.

How much space is between the top edge of the door and the top edge of the frame/box behind it? I am considering adding crown molding and want to make sure there is enough room to attach it to the top.
Hello Jason, thank you for your interest in J Collection Cabinetry. There is only about 1/16" of an inch reveal between the door and the top of the cabinet. Don't worry though, we have crown available with the required cleat to top mount the molding. You can find it using the Item# 322505834 on The Home Depot website. Can I put legs on any of the Mancos, Wallace or Alton 30x30x14 cabinets and if so which legs would be recommended and supportive.

are both outer sides finished and painted?
Thank you for you question, the end of the cabinets are not painted but have melamine ends that match to glacier white. This means for any doors that are in glacier white the ends will match, and cover panels are optional, but not required. Thank you for inquiry, we do not recommend that you paint our cabinets as that will void your warranty. For the Mancos door style, it is a laminate wrapped product that is smooth and has the appearance of paint, our Wallace door is painted MDF. All of our products have a limited lifetime warranty so if you were to have an issue with the finish we can provide you with a touch up kit for small repairs or replace the entire front for a larger issue. The review says the interior is MDF but the description say it should be a Melamine interior. Which is accurate?
