Is this hot mop compatible for a shower installation?
This drain is designed for shower installation and can be used with a variety of waterproofing methods, including hot mop. The installation guide provides details on the process. You can find the installation guide on the product page under "Info & Guides".
For tile, is the idea to turn the gold insert top over and use it as a pan to hold your tile backer, thinset then the tile? or should I be looking for a seperate peice for the tile install?
The tile insert is designed to sit within the drain channel, allowing you to place your tile directly on top of it. You would not use it as a pan. The insert creates a seamless look with your surrounding tile. You do not need a separate piece for tile installation.
