These models differ significantly in performance standards, testing requirements, and detection technology, particularly in how they respond to smoldering fires and modern nuisance sources.

Is the indicator light next to the test switch always illuminated, or does it light up only when the test switch is pressed? In bedrooms I do not want to have any light on the unit.
