what does the merv rating number mean
An air filter’s minimum efficiency reporting value (MERV) rating measures how effectively the filter stops dust and other contaminants from passing through the filter and into the air stream. MERV ratings are from 1-16, and filters with higher MERV ratings trap small particles more effectively than filters with lower MERV ratings.
Can filter handle hot air from fireplace? I would like to install on heating duct coming from fireplace to filter out ash and dust.
Thank you for your interest in our Permanant Washable Filters- But our units are designed for HVAC systems not fireplaces - We have not heard of any filters designed for Fireplaces- i would think it would be a fire hazard. Can you cut these filters?
You cannot cut our Filters they are manufactured to the size indicated -
We have a washable filter now with an aluminum frame. Our HVAC tech recommended a plastic frame. Is the black rim plastic?
The flex filters are made of a soft material, not plastic.

Yes, it will capture the cooking grease in the air. Please clean you filter more frequently to remove the grease.

Our Flex Filters are strong with a secure but flexible frame. The air will not destroy or disrupt the airflow.
how much cleaning fluid is needed for each cleaning of the filter
Thank you for your interest in our product. To clean you simply spray with water then use our C.E.F. cleaner to saturate both side of the filter. Spray again with water until it runs clean. Allow the filter to dry until there is no dripping.
