Q:I was refinishing aluminum patio furniture and while wire brushing to remove paint discovered that I made a hole. Can this product be used to fill, then sand, paint?

Answer This Question

A:  Not unless you are talking about a pinhole. A better choice would be regular Bondo body filler or JB Weld.

    I found the instructions.
No instructions on the product itself. The instructions can only be found on the rear of the retail packaging.

waste of money, this stuff just dries out and falls off.

I've used this stuff for years, and for good reason. It applies effortlessly, dries quickly and is super easy to sand. Be gentle with the sanding, though, or you may need to reapply the putty to the scratch or whatever you're filling. Primes and paints just like Bondo body filler.

Perfect for repairing the small dings and cracks in a wood veneer. This Bondo is thinner and is meant as a smoothing topcoat and will not work for larger damage.

Absolute garbage. Lost a whole evening of work.
Pure garbage. Takes forever to "cure" except when it's on your spatula- then it turns "dry" and impossible to spread smooth. I get 20 seconds "working time" followed by 60+ minutes of unsandable firm gum. This stuff is junk. Lost a whole evening of work having to undo this crap. If there's guys getting good results then how are you using it?

Question about stage number on packaging
I have used this product with great success for years. Buying some recently I noticed on the packaging that it says either Stage 1, 2, 3 or 4. What does this mean, or refer to? I have seen 3M's stages of finishing and that's not what I am looking for. I have seen others asking the same question on other forums/sights and no one seems to be able to get any answer, other than 3M's stages of finishing list. A different stage number on the package would indicate a different use for the product.
