Questions & Answers

Can the window be installed sideways, to operate like a casement?
ByApr 19, 2025
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

The vent in this window will open if the window is installed sideways. However, any trim that overlaps the edge of the vent will most likely impact the ability to open the vent. We also cannot guarantee the performance of this vent in severe weather if installed sideways, since the vent was manufactured with horizontal installation in mind.

The width of my tiled shower window opening is 23.50 inches. The old glass block windows were 23.25 inches wide. Grout was used to fill in the .25 gap on both the left and right sides combined. Will a new 23.25 inch wide glass block window work?
    BySep 21, 2024
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

You can use a new 23.25 inch wide glass block window, but the fit will be very tight. We generally recommend between 0.5 - 2 inches of room between the rough opening and glass block window, due to more leeway during installation.

Can I separate and build block by block? The window is bought is 42x25 but I don’t think I can lift and hold on a ladder

              Answer This Question

For heavy windows we recommend primarily installing from the inside if it is more accessible and a second person to assist you, if possible. Please give us a call for further details such as separation or building the window block by block. Thank You!

Should Redi2Bond be used to secure this inside a PVC window jamb/frame? Or should I use something else? Also, can this be installed from the inside instead of from the outside if I have stops in place for exterior?
                ByMar 20, 2024
                1 Answer |
                Answer This Question

Redi2Bond is more so used for assembly to place the block together to form a window of choice. Depending on the fit of the actual window Redi2Bond sealant can be used but must be within 1/8 inch or so. Windows can be installed from the interior against stops and a bead of sealant should be used against the interior of the stop and exterior between the stop and window itself. On the interior jamb finish this can be filled with insulation or mortar and trimmed out with wood trim or tile. If installing into a PVC frame size should be within 1/8 inch to caulk in place. It is still best practice to trim out exterior with stops if setting into a existing vinyl frame and trim the interior.

We like that the window lets light, yet provides privacy. We purchased the window to replace a solid window in a shower, as we were remodeling. We like that it has an opening, which will allow better ventilation than we had previously. It was just installed within the past week and we'll be using the shower for the first time today. We are pleased with the appearance. The only issue we had was needing to return the first one, due to damage during shipment. The replacement order came sooner than expected and was all in one piece. It did need to have more silicone added when the workers put it in the wall, but otherwise seems to be what we hoped it would be.

Exceeded ecpectations. Heavy duty glass panel, exact measurements, installed easily, should have done it a long time ago. Made a huge difference in keeping the basement warmer!

                  Turned out great
Feels solid, install was straightforward. Honestly getting the old window out was harder than installing this new one. Arrived with a scratch but it's not very noticeable now that it's installed. Happy with this purchase.

                    4 year old quality
I bought 5 of these block windows to redo my basement. Out of the 5, only 1 was decent quality. All the other windows barely had any silicone on them and was falling apart. These windows were also not packaged properly, leaving half the window to move freely and break apart. If you’re looking for a piece of junk they you’re going to have to fix, then buy these.

Arrived damaged. Window had separated into two pieces. Manufacturer answered the phone after a google search of their number. They offered to ship a replacement. I declined and fixed it myself. The 100 % silicone needed to be scraped off and reapplied. Window held well after 48 hours and I installed it 5 days after the fix. I leveled it on shims even with the face of my stucco with about 20 screws in the window frame for the mortar to adhere to. Time will tell how long it lasts using this installation method but I feel confident.
