Why are the 4x4's thicker than the Simpson tie ins allow? I have a few different types, all bought at the same Home Depot at the same week. the 4x4 are too thick. I had to sand down the 4x4's to fit. Not many people have a commercial planner.

All natural untreated Redwood. The Prop 65 sticker is just warning you of sawdust since California classifies it as a hazardous chemical.

It's not pressure treated, but, it is treated. In california it has a warning label, its some kind of all purpose fungicide/insecticide.. it keeps the wood pretty on the store shelves. But, its not strong enough for long term protection like PT..

There is not much demand for Redwood here. As such, the selection is low and the quality poor. It worked for my job, but I had to dig through the entire pile for a few sticks.

      Great product - reasonable price
Pretty much what you expect from dimensional lumber - clean and consistent with grade. I used them as part of outdoor project building raised garden beds. The 4x4s were used as the corner posts.

I was able to find two posts that were straight and not significantly blemished.

Using this as the center posts for a pair of dragon fruit trellises. Works fine for this purpose, will use it again.

It was damaged with purple paint. Sign said 85% off, but when it rang up 70% the employee asked someone higher and apparently only brown treat is 85% off.
