OK, now I have both ends installed perfectly in accord with the instructions. That is seven steps and there is no eighth step. How do I get the bar inserted between the two ends? (I believe the instructions refer to the ends as "posts") some of the wording in the instructions is not terribly clear. If anyone is wondering what a fastener is, I think in the US, we call them screws.
Make sure the base are correct install. There is a clip that you need to push up to be able to pu in place tje other side.
You have to insert the bar before installing the second end. It can be tricky and a third hand would be helpful.
You have to install the second bracket with the cross bar already in place.
No problem setting it up
The bar must be inserted into one of the posts and you have to hold the bar in place with one hand while you attach the other post onto the wall with your other hand. Check out You Tube. There are a lot of video's that will give you step by step instructions on installing a towel bar. It can be much easier using pictures rather than written instructions if you're not too handy.
What is the diameter of the bar? I like this style but I need a 30" bar so I want to find a replacement bar to substitute for the 24" that this comes with. Can you confirm that the bar just slides into the end braces before installation?
Yes, the bar just slides in to the end brackets - no screws holding it in place. The diameter is approximately 1/2 inch.

Could be if you buy good drywall anchors to use instead of the junk supplied with the towel bar. Otherwise, a large pilot hole may help, but not always.
The bar fell out and I can't get the bracket off the wall to fix or replace
Hello Joycrow, We apologize for your inconvenience. To remove the bar you will need to push up on the post until you feel the wire move. Once you feel the movement, tilt the bar back. Not really sure as I just installed it and hopefully do not have to remove it. You may be able to push up from the bottom and then pull out the top of the bracket.
If it is installed correctly, slide the arms up and rotate the top of the bracket forward. The springs are strong, so you may have to push fairly hard. Make sure you push straight up against the wall, do not use the end of the arm as a lever.
Just push upward on the brackets. They are spring loaded. the top should then come outward and the bracket releases.
My spring loaded mounting clip broke when I was installing it. How do I get replacements?
The manufacture would probably be happy to send you a replacement. Give them a shout at the contact info on your paperwork or search out their CS site/phone center.
You should probably check with Delta. I assume that you still have the model number, etc. There may be a contact phone number on the box or the instruction bracket. If not, there is always Google.
