Each shutter is handcrafted by skilled craftsmen with a rough planed surface texture. Cedar can often have wide ranges of red and brown hues which adds interest and appeal that only real solid wood can provide. If left unfinished the wood will weather to an even color. We recommend staining the wood with a transparent stain if you want to keep the various color tones. Our shutters can be stained with a semi-transparent or solid stain to match your home or quickly sanded smooth for a more polished look. Orders are custom built and ship within 7-days. Design Craft MIllworks shutters can also be adapted for a variety of indoor uses. 4 Hex cap nuts, 4 screws and 4 anchors are included for each shutter. There is a total of 8 per pair of shutters.

What is warranty on these items?
There is not a warranty on these shutters. They are shipped in their natural state with no stain or finish. Western Red Cedar will last 15-20 years in its natural state and longer with protective stain or finish.
It seems many buyers complain that they are much lighter shade than pictured. Advise if I will receive a darker tone as pictured above? We intend to leave them unfinished and would like to closely match our red cedar columns which are also unfinished.
Thank you for your inquiry. We cut wood weekly and these shutters come directly from Western Red Cedar trees. While we wish we could select colors, western red cedar comes in many color variations and it totally depends on the lumber we are cutting. If left unfinished, western red cedar will grey over time. It is highly recommended to use a semi-transparent stain with UV protection to protect the cedar color. Semi-transparent stains do not have to add much color, but it does allow you to better match existing columns, etc.
How would you install on a stucco house?
The shutters do not have pre-drilled holes, so you can drill pilot holes where desired for installation. For stucco, it's recommended to use appropriate anchors designed for use with stucco to ensure a secure hold. The included hardware pack comes with screws and anchors. If you are unsure about the best anchors to use with your specific stucco type, it is best to consult with a professional or your local Home Depot store associate for guidance.
Will the screws provided work on a block house?
I am assuming you are referencing cinder blocks. Yes, you will need to use the provided anchors that come in the hardware pack.
Can these shutters be cut to a shorter length? If so, any recommendations on best approach?

Can any stsin be applied or is there one you recommend more for Cedar? What about a sealant?
Home Depot has many great stains and sealants that can be applied to these shutters. It depends on your personal preference. Semi- transparent stains show the natural colors well in a more uniform color of your choice. Sealants will keep the color as is and it is important to use one with UV protection. You can paint them as well.
